Pee-Wee Pushes Daisies

ABC’s new series Pushing Daisies is starting to get a lof buzz as it’s being shown at preview screenings and now previews are appearing in movie theaters. It’s an atypical series for network television, but ABC certainly seems to be putting some marketing muscle behind it.

Adding to the news of the show is the report, from TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello, that actor Paul Reubens will be joining the show for what is called a “potentially recurring role.” Reubens is of course best known for portraying Pee-Wee Herman on both a television series and two feature films.

The character Reuben will portray, according to Ausiello, is “Alfredo Aldarisio, a traveling homeopathic antidepressant representative / salesman.” Reubens was last seen on television in a guest role on the FX series Dirt.

Pushing Daisies premieres Wednesday at 8pm ET/PT on ABC, starting October 3rd.
